Easy Abstract Art in Photoshop by Shane Zentz
One of the cool things about Photoshop is that sometimes you accidentally stumble upon something new (at least to you) and that is what happened with me recently.
I discovered how you can create an image like the one below:
And I discovered this by just fiddling around with the ’tiles’ filter. So to create an image similar to the one above is really easy. Just start a new image in Photoshop of whatever size seems best to you. Then using the marquee tool, create a rectangle with some fill color of your choice (and add a stroke color if you would like). With this rectangle that you just created as the active selection, go to the top filters menu and select -> stylize -> tiles, when the dialog box comes up then choose about 10 for the number of tiles and 1% for the offset, just to start. Then repeat the same action, only this time fiddle with the total number of tiles and the offset number (I used 15 for number of tiles and 5% for offset). And you can repeat this process any number of times or experiment with different numbers of tiles and offsets to get the abstract art that looks good to you. Pretty easy huh?
